Description
The CC30E is Cub Cadet’s compact electric rear-engine rider — a 30-inch battery-powered mower that runs on a 56-volt lithium-ion pack and replaces a gas single-cylinder for properties up to about an acre. Where most homeowner electric mowers force a tradeoff between cut quality and runtime, the CC30E is engineered to mow a full acre on a single charge while delivering a clean, even cut from a 30-inch deck that fits through standard 36-inch garden gates.
The drivetrain is a brushless DC motor system feeding the rear wheels through an electric drive transmission. There are no belts, no transmission fluid, no oil to change, no spark plugs, no air filters, and no carburetor to clean. Cold-start procedures are eliminated entirely: turn the key, push the pedal, mow. Forward and reverse are controlled by a single rocker switch, and ground speed is set by a thumbwheel.
The 56-volt 30-amp-hour lithium-ion battery delivers up to one hour of continuous mowing or about one acre per charge under typical residential conditions. Charging happens through a standard 110-volt household outlet over roughly 4 hours — plug it in after Saturday morning mowing and it is ready by lunch. The battery is integrated into the chassis rather than a removable pack, eliminating a common failure point on competitor electric mowers.
Operating noise is one of the headline differences. At roughly 75 decibels at the operator’s ear, the CC30E runs about 54 percent quieter than a comparable gas single-cylinder — quiet enough to mow at 7 a.m. in an HOA without the neighbor coming over, and quiet enough to hold a conversation while mowing. Hearing protection is unnecessary.
The 30-inch single-blade stamped steel deck cuts at five height settings between 1.5 and 4 inches via a hand lever. Side discharge is the default mode out of the box, and an included mulch kit converts the deck to mulching in under sixty seconds. The narrow profile fits through standard 36-inch garden gates, navigates tight landscaping, and parks compactly in a single-bay garage or mid-size shed.
Operator comfort centers on a high-back seat with armrests, a USB charging port for a phone, headlights for low-light mowing, and an integrated cup holder. The dashboard layout is the most modern in the category at any price point: ignition, forward-reverse rocker, throttle thumbwheel, deck-engagement lever. The chassis is welded steel with corrosion protection, and the standard rear hitch accepts most popular tow-behind attachments.
For a quarter-acre to one-acre property where eliminating gas, oil, and ongoing maintenance matters more than absolute top speed, the CC30E is the cleanest path into the riding-mower category. Three-year limited warranty and four-year battery warranty included.
